We cannot stress enough just how important it is that dog and handler teams have a strong foundation in socialisation and early training to give them the best chance at a long and successful career together in the animal assisted services indusrty.
This is especially the case if dogs have been purchased for this intention, where the financial and time investment is already significant before the puppy has even arrived home.
Don't worry - we still have adult dog training options for teams who have missed out on our Juniors Mentoring Program, check out our Community & Clinical Courses for training options for dogs that are already over 12 months old.
We have now combined our puppy & adolescent programs in to the ONE program.
This means that you can join from even before puppy arrives, all the way up to 12 months old. Once you have joined, you will get 12 months of access to our online classroom, live classes & recorded classes (past & present).
The program includes:
- Access to our Skool - online classroom & forum where you can chat with trainers & other students.
- Full webinar access for both puppy & adolescent programs (5+ hours of pre-recorded theory that you can watch at your own pace)
- Access to our Puppy and Adolescent live online classes (Puppy Monday 6pm weekly, Adolescent Monday 7pm fortnightly AEST).
- Access to our Training Video Library (puppy videos & our FULL training library that we use for our dog & handler courses).
If you have questions before booking your place, please email courses@therapydog.com.au
Please note: we are THERAPY DOG trainers, this is different to an 'assistance dog', 'service dog' or 'companion dog'/'emotional support dog'. We do not train these types of dogs. This workshop is NOT SUITABLE for these types of dogs. Therapy dogs are dogs that go visiting places / work in therapy or education roles.

These programs are designed for budding handlers who are hoping to enter the field of animal assisted services (either professionally or as a volunteer) and are raising a puppy/young dog that they already have (or hope to get in the near future) to be a future therapy dog.
There are lots of little tips and tricks that we as experienced therapy dog trainers have learned over the years that have helped us to nurture the personality traits in younger dogs that are absolutely crucial for a long career as a Therapy Dog. We have developed some MUST KNOW content to help you get your young dogs off to the best possible start for a long career as a therapy dog and handler team.
We are passionate about raising happy, healthy, confident, friendly, even-tempered and well-mannered dogs, while problem solving common behavioural issues along the way (mouthing, toileting, barking, guarding) as well as avoiding separation anxiety.
Our young dog programs are delivered by dog training professionals who are experienced in the field of animal assisted therapy, we know exactly what skills your dog needs to LOVE their job.

For those who are really serious about starting their Therapy Dog training journey.
Go to our online store - to the 'Juniors Programs' category.
The program is $400
for 12 months of support!
Once you have purchased the package, we will invite you to Skool where you will access the Webinars, log in to classes, chat with the other students and ask the trainers questions!
